Our profile
Apollo Tyres Global R&D is the PV competence centre of Apollo and is located in Enschede. We are responsible for the development and testing of all passenger car and light lorry tyres for all brands which the company represents (e.g., Apollo and Vredestein).
We have more than 130 employees within Apollo R&D PV. Our employees work within a flat organisational framework. Decisions are made quickly and lead to a faster development of new, original products. The Laboratory department is responsible for delivering test data regarding raw materials, compounds, components and finished products (tyres) to the total Apollo organization. The R&D Laboratory is constantly looking for new, inventive methods to ensure that our tyres meet the requirements of customers.

Your job
As Researcher you develop independently and in consultation with internal customers new physical test methods for rubber compounds and reinforcement materials. If necessary, you lead the purchase and installation of new equipment. For this purpose, you keep your knowledge about the developments in the industry up to date.
You will also contribute to the regular activities and standardization in the physical laboratory. Analyses are performed/developed on test equipment like; RPA, Mooney, DMA, and Tensile Tester. The measurement outcomes are reported in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). In addition, research for troubleshooting to support the factories is done in the laboratory.
Furthermore, as Researcher you are a sparring partner to material specialists, physicists and tyre engineers, and participates in or leads cross-functional projects, which can be international.

Your profile
• MSc Chemical Engineering (Materials Science), Elastomer Technology, or similar
• 2-5 years of work experience in a similar position
• Affinity with polymers/elastomers
• Knowledge of modern (physical) test methods and equipment
• Analytical skills and knowledge of statistics
• Knowledge of IT systems (LIMS)
• Good English language skills
